Two of these escalators were deployed on October 2015. The horizontal distance breached between supports was 40 meters, allowing direct access to the fifth floor of the building.
The highest obstacle in the design of escalators is the resistance of the structure itself. SELOON has already had a similar problem with the Enshi Grand Canyon project, which included two escalators breaching 22 and 24 meters.
The SELOON research team concludes “We now have the capacity and experience to design and manufacture support less escalators breaching up to 25 meters in height”.
